April 15, 236 AD

Marcus and I have now returned from our voyage to Egypt.

We’ve been only gone for a month since our wedding and now everything has seemed to change.

We have come back to a castle full of warrior vampires ready for battle.

Apparently they have been training non stop.

Instead of a “Welcome back.” The first thing that was said to me was “Will we win?”

Lovely.

I assumed Aro had confirmed my suspicions of him building and army to fight the Romanians for the throne.

But I wanted him safe, not in battle.

As much as I contemplated lying to him and telling him they would lose if they fought, I just couldn’t lie to my brother like that.

His decision to take over the power to govern over all vampires will head him down the path of greed.

His hunger for more power will only increase now.

His hunger will never be satisfied.

I wonder if Aro would have eventually attacked the Romanians anyway if Didyme would have lied to him about her vision.

Would the Romanians still be ruling today?

Would it have been better that way?

Worse?

Wait until you visit your family to read the rest of my journal.

Didyme
